Most people are never thankful for their lives, their families or what they've achieved in life. And this is because they are never satisfied with what they already have. All they do is spend most of their time grumbling and caught up in a spiral of anxiety. Such people are always complaining about what they do not have and blaming God and everyone or everything around them for that.
Are you one of them? If you are, please, please - I am humbly asking you to stop in your tracks - just take a minute and ponder - take a good look around you - you'll be shocked to see that there is already too much that has already happened in your life that you have never appreciated God for. Most of these are things that you take for granted - did you know that there is someone in some part of the world who will never see or touch thing things you take for granted? The things you over look - calling them ordinary, are actually a luxury for someone else - they wish they had them.
Som of you are married, have children, a job or a business and some money in your bank account - and yet you are complaining about the husband or the wife or the children or the taxing job and on and on and on you go. Hey, stop and take stock - there is more to thank God for than you can even imagine - you are wasting away because you are over anxious and trust me, that is not a good life to live.
Why don'y you try - thank-living - a kind of life where you are in perpetual thanksgiving. Thank God for everything that you are and have. Paul encourages us to do so in - Ephesians 5:20 - always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the words of Matthew Henry, "Thanks- giving is good, but thanks-living is better." Rather than waiting on a particular day to feel thankful, it is best that you live a continuous thankful life - " giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus" - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
