Our core values communicate the things that we stand for and consider vital to us as a church.
They dictate why we do what we do in our quest to achieve our mission and in the process, help us to focus on fulfilling our God-given vision.  

These values here below describe the culture that we seek to create here at Shiloh Tabernacle.

1. We value Scripture
We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired word and is the only authoritative and accurate source of man’s salvation and manual for Christian living. We, therefore, value Bible exposition and are committed to preaching and teaching God’s word with integrity and authority so that seekers can find Christ while believers are equipped to follow Him and mature in Him – equipped to do His work

(2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25; Acts 2:42).
 
2. We value Prayer
We believe that God desires his people to pray and that He hears and responds to their prayers. Therefore, all the conception, planning and execution of every ministry activity at Shiloh Tabernacle will be characterised by reliance on prayer - both private and corporate (Matthew 7:7-11; James 5:13-18). 
 
3. We value Praise and Worship
We value authentic personal and corporate worship. We want to organise all our services in a manner that maximises participation and purposeful engagement of our members in God-centred worship (John 4:21-24; Romans 12:1-2).
 
4. We value Evangelism
We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to the church. This includes the concepts of relational evangelism and evangelism as a process (Luke 5:30-32; Matthew 18:14). We value the un-churched people and employ every available Christ-honouring means to pursue, win, and disciple them. We aim to create a non-threatening and friendly environment in which they are free to explore the Christian faith at their own pace (Luke 19:10).
 
5. We value Discipleship
We value the concept of equipping and empowering our members for works of service, which we believe should be the primary responsibility of the pastors(s) and teachers at Shiloh Tabernacle (Ephesians 4:11-16). Therefore, ministry in our church is placed as much as possible in the hands of members. This is accomplished through training opportunities and practices, which encourage leadership, responsibility, and authority in the various ministries of the church.
 
6. We value Fellowship
We stress healthy relationships among our members – creating structures to help them care for each other, develop friendships and share their experiences. We want loving relationships to permeate every aspect of church life.
Shiloh Tabernacle is a love-driven ministry, emphasising teams and building relationships (1 Corinthians 13, Nehemiah 3; Luke 10:10; John 13: 34-35, Acts 2:42, 44-46).
 
7. We value Family
We value spiritual nurture of the family as one of God’s dynamic means to perpetuate the Christian faith. We, therefore,  seek to provide an atmosphere which strengthens marriages and families (2 Timothy 1:5). We are also committed to strong youth and children’s programs.
 
8. We value Creativity and Innovation
We value constant evaluation of our forms and methods, seeking cultural relevance and maximum ministry effectiveness for Christ

(1 Chronicles 12:32). We want to contextualise our ministry without compromising biblical absolutes when communicating the gospel. Flexibility and adaptability while remaining pure in doctrinal , is our goal for effective ministry other than adhering to tradition

(1 Corinthians 9:19-23).
 
9. We value Excellence
We believe that the God of our salvation deserves the best we have to offer. The Lord himself is a God of excellence, as shown in the beauty of creation; Paul exhorts us in whatever we do, to ‘work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men’

 (Colossians 3:17- 23). Therefore, in the ministries and activities of Shiloh Tabernacle, we will seek to maintain a high standard of excellence to the glory of God. Excellence involves the process of evaluation and critical review, which will be our under-girding activities.
 
10. We value Gender equality
We believe that  Shiloh Tabernacle should operate as a unified community of servants with men and women stewarding their spiritual gifts, servanthood and ministry callings  (1 Corinthians 12 ; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; Psalm 133:1); we will strive to cultivate an atmosphere where both men and women can freely  exercise their leadership gifts through servant leadership 

(Nehemiah 1 and 2; Romans 12:8; Acts 6:2-5).
